My cousin Derek called a few nights ago to let me know that he and his wife Kris were expecting. I've been hassling him wondering when he was going to make the leap into parenthood and he's been a good sport. Kris's due date is October 17th and I couldn't be happier for them.

On a related note, my sister and her husband Dom are expecting their second in August. They've also discovered that the baby's a girl!. Cindy's the only girl in the last two generations of Kieffers and it makes sense that she's the first Kieffer in a while to bring one into the family.
