How 'bout those Tigers?

Favorites:

I probably shouldn't be writing this for fear of putting a jinx on the great start to the Detroit Tigers season, but what the hell.

I haven't followed the Tigers seriously since, hmmm, 1984 when they won their last World Series. I was pleasantly surprised to see that they're off to their best start in many years and, as of the writing of this entry, they're 5-0.

Admittedly, they haven't played teams expected to contend yet, but wins are wins. Bringing in Jim Leyland is paying early dividends and we'll see if they can keep their power-hitting streak rolling against the first challenge of the season when they host the White Sox.

Oh well

From a 5 game winning streak to a 2 game losing streak. Hopefully they get back on track during game two against the White Sox.

Wow, 18-1 vs. the Twins

Man, I'm actually excited about baseball again. Haven't had much to cheer about regarding Detroit in quite some time and now they've swept a team that they haven't swept in four years and scored more runs than they've scored since 1993!
