I just got back from a whirlwind trip to New York City. The primary purpose of this trip was to meet up with a group of folks that I've been working with on the Gallery Project. I've posted the Gallery bits about the trip on my other blog but want to share some personal thoughts and memories of NYC. This post is to share my thoughts on visiting NYC for the first time since 1991.
I'm in the van with the family today heading for Denver, CO. While on the road I started thinking about when my pal Tim Heyl and I drove from Santa Fe to the Red Rocks Amphitheater near Denver to see Weezer. It was a fun trip, great show, and now I'm thinking about all of the concerts that I've seen and the great places I've seen them.
It's been quite sometime since I've posted anything, it's been a busy summer. To break my online silence, here's a long over due report from the Kieffer family reunion. Yes, the "Northern Kieffers" and "Southern Kieffers" descended on Sunset Beach, North Carolina for a week of fun at the beach. My sister did a great job finding a rental that 13 of us could fit into.
It was four years ago today that Owen Patrick Kieffer entered the world. It's hard to believe that this energetic and carefree kid was a premie. Each night this weekend Amy asked me if I remember what we were doing 4 years ago. On Cinco de Mayo 2001 Amy and I were awakened at 5 in the morning by her water breaking. Blame it on Cinco de Mayo. Blame it on the full moon.
