Last Thursday, Amy and I saw Los Lobos here in Santa Fe at the Lensic Theatre. They were incredible! This was Amy's first Los Lobos concert and my second. Amy even bought me a Los Lobos t-shirt. After this concert, Los Lobos is now one of those bands that I will not miss if they play anywhere within a 50 mile radius of Santa Fe.
I signed up for Netflix a few weeks ago and we just finished watching our second batch of three movies. I have to say "hat's off" to whom ever came up with the business plan.
I believe Laura Lorson hits the nail on the head in this NPR commentary. I'm all for folks expanding their vocabularies, but not when attempting to communicate to the masses. I especially loved Lorson's formulas for describing artists, especially the simple formula that Bowie == Bowie.
Shortly after I started using my iTrip FM transmitter with my iPod I started wondering what will happen when iPod transmissions collide on the road. There are a lot of car owners who rely on these transmitters to play our tunes in the car because we don't have a jack or a cassette deck to plug in our iPod's. And of course, the number of iPod owners is growing everyday.
You know, on the way over, I decided to listen to a rock station to get into the mood. And I heard a line in one of those tribal passages that I thought was the keynote for this evening. "Everybody have fun tonight. Everybody Wang Chung tonight."
